Let’s face it – the world of cryptocurrencies has changed many fates and destinies so far. What’s most interesting, however, is the fact that it equally shifts the perspective of young and prosperous investors as well as older and more informed ones.
A great example for this is one German teenager named Erik Finman. At the age of 12, he made a bet with his parents that if he was a millionaire by the age of 18, he wouldn’t have to go to college. His parents, overwhelmed by his decision, have obviously agreed to his terms, believing that the chances for that are close to none.
A Bitcoin Millionaire By The Age Of 18 – Winning The Bet Against His Parents
However, Finman had a mission – and was determined right from the start. He took 1,000 Euros from his grandmother (around $1,180) which were meant for his studies, he bought Bitcoin at a rate of around 10 Euros ($11.8) each. By the time he was 18, Erik was already a Bitcoin millionaire – winning the bet with his parents.
Erik Finman later became a legend in his hometown, Germany and all around the world. He was interviewed by Business Insider and other prestigious portals too. In the interview with BI, Erik was asked about the current drop in the crypto market that has been happening since the end of 2017.
As he told BI, he believes that “the advance of cryptocurrencies is unstoppable. A single crash does not change that. People will continue to invest in it and become increasingly emotionally connected with digital currencies.”
According to Erik, selling your crypto because of a market instability or setback is a big mistake.
“As interest increased and the price rose, [people] were attracted and invested their money in it. But the biggest mistake they can make is to get out of the market now and sell their Bitcoin just because of a setback,” Erik is confident.
A Pompous Brat – Or A Smart Investor?
Still, the interview raised a bit of controversy mostly because of the luck factor – and the fact that nowadays it is a lot harder to enter the Bitcoin market and get rich. Erik, however, believes that this is still very much doable, adding “I say if you do not become a millionaire in the next 10 years, then it’s your own fault.”
Many articles have called Finman a brat or “fresh out of childhood and fresh into being pompous about cryptocurrency”. Still, Erik’s personal success is great, especially because of his age and understanding of technology.
